The Director of the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Usmonzoda Khairiddin held a meeting with the President of the Institute for Political and International Studies (IPIS) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mohammad Hassan Sheikholeslami.
At the outset of the meeting, Mohammad Hassan Sheikholeslami welcomed his guests and appreciated the expansion of scientific relations with the Center for Strategic Research of Tajikistan.
During his address regarding the political situation of the region and the world, he expressed that the increasing threat of terrorism and extremism, the clash of civilizations, and the interest-seeking of some states make us to expand interstate cooperation in various areas, including scientific-analytical cooperation.
It was emphasized that Tajikistan and Iran, who have made a great contribution in the past, can play a key role in the future in ensuring the security of the region.
Khayriddin Usmonzoda in his turn, expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome, noted that the scientific and analytical cooperation with intellectual and analytical institutions of Iran is one of the priorities in the activity of the Strategic Research Center of Tajikistan.
The signe of the Memorandum of Understanding between the two institutions during the official visit of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to Iran made it possible to develop scientific and analytical cooperation between the intellectual centers of Tajikistan and Iran.
The officials also exchanged views on boosting cooperation in science and expressed their readiness to hold scientific conferences.
The meeting took place in a spirit of openness and sincerity.
